Fujitsu General New Zealand has announced its large capacity R32 High Static Ducted series is now available in the New Zealand market, extending the company’s R32 ducted family to meet growing demand for advanced air conditioning solutions across residential and commercial environments. The new systems are available in 20kW to 25kW heating capacities, combining energy efficiency, robust performance, and streamlined installation features to support the needs of installers, property owners, and end users alike.

The series represents an important evolution in Fujitsu General’s ducted offering, with the shift to R32 refrigerant delivering significant reductions in environmental impact. The R32 series carries a 67 per cent lower global warming potential (GWP) compared with earlier R410A models, and the new models achieve measurable efficiency improvements, further aligning with New Zealand’s drive for more sustainable built environments.1

Fujitsu General has elevated performance through improvements in both Total Cooling Seasonal Performance Factor (TCSPF) and Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) across the 65, 72, and 90 models. This translates to strong year-round comfort and savings for homeowners, while business owners benefit from reduced running costs and greater sustainability outcomes.

Kyle Rafter, general manager of product and strategy, Fujitsu General Australia and New Zealand, said, “This launch reinforces Fujitsu General’s commitment to delivering air conditioning systems that match the unique requirements of the New Zealand market. Customers expect technology that balances powerful output with global warming potential in mind, and the R32 High Static Ducted series delivers on both. Fujitsu General is providing solutions that contribute to long-term energy savings by expanding our R32 ducted family.

“The series has also been designed with simple installation in mind. A splittable indoor unit that is up to 31 kilograms lighter2 and integrates carry handles and a truss clearance notch make ceiling installations more practical. The outdoor units are also slimmer, more compact, and up to 108 kilograms lighter3, requiring just 500 millimetres of clearance. Together with reduced pipe sizing and flared connections, these design changes simplify installation while saving valuable time on site. In addition, the indoor unit is powered directly by the outdoor unit, reducing complexity during setup and enhancing overall reliability.”

The new systems include features designed to support intelligent climate management alongside these hardware enhancements. Each model ships with a standard touch panel zone controller and offers automatic static pressure adjustment, refrigerant cycle monitoring via optional accessories, and wireless local area network (LAN) integration4. These capabilities make the series suitable for both stand-alone residential deployments and more complex smart building applications.

The series offers greater convenience for New Zealand households through functions such as custom auto mode, automatic fan speed, and auto changeover, all of which maintain consistent indoor conditions without constant manual input. Users can pair their units with the optional Fujitsu General’s anywAiR® technology ducted controller to take advantage of Wi-Fi connectivity and full zone management, controlling comfort from a wall-mounted touch pad or mobile device.

The large capacity R32 High Static Ducted series also responds to the changing demands of urban development in New Zealand. The reduced footprint and lighter design of the outdoor units make them well suited for installation in compact properties or on constrained sites with housing density increasing and space at a premium.

Commercial operators can also benefit from the series’ advanced connectivity. Integration with Modbus delivers compatibility with building management systems, helping facilities teams monitor and manage performance while supporting broader sustainability reporting requirements.

The new R32 High Static Ducted series is now available through Fujitsu General’s dealer network across New Zealand. The 65 model is offered in both single-phase and three-phase options, giving flexibility for a variety of property types and installation needs.
